DESCRIPTION:  \nNature Faire is back!! \nJoin Richard Bong State Recreation Area for our Nature Faire! \nWhen:  Saturday\, June 3rd from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. \nWhere:  Shelter 1 \n  \nNature Crafts: Crescent wreath\, seed paper\, plant markers\,\nkindness rocks \niNaturalist Training: Learn how to use this special app to get the\nmost out of your encounters with nature. \nBake Sale: Purchase some tasty\, home-made treats and help\nsupport the Bong Naturalist Association. \nSolar Viewing:\nLocated in the parking lot near the NEC entrance (by Urban Pond)\n1-4 p.m.\nUse a special telescope to observe the sun! \nNature Explore Classroom:     \n\nPollinator Hunt:  Search for fake pollinators hidden around the\nNEC. Can you find all of the bees\, bats\, and butterflies we hid?\nAnimal Yoga:  Try out some of the animal yoga poses that are\nposted in the climbing and crawling area of the NEC.\nMovin’ to the Music: Head to the music and movement area for\nan instrumental jam session and dance party!\nBeach Party:  Pretend you are at the beach with the fun beach\nelements added to the our sand box play area!\nNature Art Areas:  use the extra art supplies provided in the Nature\nArt Areas to make leaf rubbings and nature drawings.\nLive Snake Encounter:  Experience the special opportunity to\ntouch our education snakes and learn about what makes them\nsuch unique and amazing creatures. Find us in Gathering Area\n2 of the NEC from 10-10:45 a.m. and again from 12-1 p.m.\nVisitor Center Solarium\nBook Sale:  Support the Bong Naturalist Association and find a\ngood book to read. Take your book out into nature and find a good\nspot to enjoy it!\nNature Explore Classroom Art Celebration – 11 a.m.\nGather near the NEC Entrance Gate at Gathering Area 1 for the\nspecial celebration of the unique tin art pieces made by our\nvolunteer Terry!\n\nThis will be day filled with exciting nature activities\, including live reptile encounters\, crafts\, and a fishing clinic. \nThis is also the DNR Free Weekend\, so entrance to the park is free! \nMeet at Shelter 1. \n

DESCRIPTION:Open Astronomy Tonight! \nGet the chance to look through special telescopes and binoculars at the incredible night sky. \nBring your own telescope or binoculars and learn how to use them or take a peek through the special equipment brought by our volunteer astronomer\, Tom! \nIf the skies are clear you are welcome to come see the night sky!  Sessions start approximately 30 minutes after sunset and usually last for 1 – 2 hours. \nMeet at Parking Lot F near the observation tower. \nAll programs require a Wisconsin State Park entrance sticker or daily entrance fee.
